Originally released between 1980 and 1993 for Apple II computers, this new 2.2 version features additional error checking and improved reliability. With this release, we are also making additional items available for use with the GBBS Pro 2.2 system, including a significantly updated physical manual:

SOFTWARE: GBBS Pro 2.2 beta 1 comes with two floppies. They are GBBS.CONFIG and GBBS.SYSTEM.  These disk images will run on both real Apple II’s as well as on Virtual II emulator on the Mac. They should also run on AppleWin on Windows. The software is available in the archives, and the source from the official Github page for GBBS Pro: https://github.com/callapple/GBBS

BOOK: The significantly expanded and updated manual is available in both Paperback and Hardback at:  CallAPPLE.org/books. It contains over 240 pages of expanded documentation, tutorials, GBBS development history, as well as forwards from Kevin M. Smallwood and experienced BBS sysops. Some proceeds from sales of the book are being donated to charity.

For new users, a Quick Install Guide is available.   This guide, created by Henry Pedro is a good place to start for those who want to test run the software.

OTHER: GBBS Pro is best installed on a large capacity Hard Disk/Digital partition. In order to facilitate this, we have also provided a blank 32mb partition image as well as one with ProDOS 2.4.1 already on it with Bitsy Bye. This will allow easy installation of the system as well as manipulation/startup of your BBS.
